Working in ceramics, jewelry making, painting, printmaking, glass, encaustic and sculpture have all been compelling—I love trying new ways of working. My art has become experimental, more abstract and personal. I work steadily, and delight in those moments when the art becomes a satisfying flow of creativity. I can sum up a consistent theme in my work: Our place on this planet—our relationship with nature, geology, time, ancient culture, and each other has inspired my art.

It’s very important for me to create in a community of artists. Collaboration, feedback, inspiration and friendships have been the best part of my time working as an artist in Rochester.
